Metropia's Kristina Åberg named producer of the year

The prize, which was awarded at the Göteborg Film Festival by Stockholm Post Production, consists of free printing of the winning producer’s next film at an estimated value of SEK 500 000. The winner is chosen among the Swedish feature films of last year and goes to a producer with both high economic and artistic visions.

The Lorens Award 2010 goes to a courageous and community involved producer who does not shy away from the difficult or challenging. This year’s producer is a driven person with high artistic ambitions who produces unexpected stories and is not afraid of using new and not yet tested technologies. For her work with the innovative and unique animated film Metropia, this years Lorens goes to Kristina Åberg.

Videocracy premiers in the U.S.

Videocracy made its debut in the U.S. on Febr 12, with extensive coverage in New York Times and Time Out New York (5 stars out of 5), accompanied by anti-Berlusconi protests outside the IFC Center in Manhattan.

Guldbagge Awards to Metropia's Isak Gjertsen and Videocracy's Johan Söderberg.

At the Guldbagge Awards, Sweden’s equivalent of the Academy Awards, two prominent members of the Atmo crew got a Guldbagge of their own: lead animator Isak Gjertsen for providing the technical conditions to create a magical experience in Metropia and editor and composer Johan Söderberg for a rhythmic merge of music and image in Videocracy. And, yes, we are sooo proud of these guys.
