Raja Sarajevo

On New Years Eve 1994, Erik Gandini and photographer Martina Iverus went to Sarajevo, armed with a small High-8 camera.

Under terrible conditions of siege, shelling and snipers they found good friends whom they made a film about.

The four friends Enes, Asja, Faris and Soba struggled in war-time Sarajevo, trying to live a life as normal as possible by playing at concerts, skiing, painting and just spending time together.

”We are just acting. This is not a normal life – we are acting a normal life.”
